Launching of Road Safety Awareness Programmes 2023-24
Rajagiri outREACH is delighted to launch a new Project on “Road Safety Awareness Programmes 2023–24,” which is supported by the Australian Consulate General, Chennai. The project officially commenced on 18th July 2023 with an awareness workshop and Eye testing camp for the Tank and Truck crew of the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Irumpanam, Kochi. Community level awareness programmes, workshops for commercial vehicle drivers, and eye camps have been conducted in the month of July 2023.
Entrepreneur Support for Women beneficiaries
As part of the women empowerment initiatives, Rajagiri outREACH has been supporting thousands of women with various programmes. With the support of K.P Paul Foundation, Rajagiri outREACH supported 32 women beneficiaries to strengthen their existing entrepreneurships, such as catering services, livestock, organic farming, gardening, food processing units, tailoring, textiles, etc. 32 deserving women were supported with a total of Rs. 13,00,000 during the month of July 2023.
Souhrudam Camp for Children
Rajagiri outREACH extended a platform for the children from the community to enhance their skills and for holistic development and growth through summer camps. These vacation camps ensure the active participation of children and provide them with life skill education, leadership, personality development, career guidance, environmental protection activities, etc. with the support of subject expertise. A total of 1525 children participated in 20 Souhradam Camps conducted in various communities in Ernakulam district.
Campaign against Drugs – Outreach Drop-In Center
With the intention of eradicating substance abuse among children and youth, Rajagiri outREACH has initiated various intervention programmes in the community, such as Free Professional Football coaching for the students of FACT Eastern UP school Eloor, which enhances children’s interest in sports. A Football tournament has been organized to educate the youth and make them capable of avoiding the negative influences in society. A total of 130 youth participated in the tournament, which lasted for two months. An Anti-Tobacco rally was also conducted to spread awareness among the community about the evil effects of substance and tobacco use. Along with this, various awareness sessions on drug abuse have been organizing for the community, school children, adolescents, parents, and teachers on a regular basis.
